New on mvyradio: Tweedy

0comments
Well, we haven't seen a video as weird or as entertaining as this in a while . . . hats off to the Tweedy boys for this one.  And "Low Key" is a great sketch of a guy who's a bit emotionally reserved.

mvyradio: Laurel's decision; Jess on mornings

0comments
Laurel Redington is recovering from her car accident.  On Tuesday, she came on the air to talk about her future at mvyradio.

After 8 years, Laurel has officially decided to leave the morning slot.  She'll still work for MVY and will be producing many Community Related features.  She'll continue to do her Morning Toast.  And she'll be the "Station Voice," do the work of all our recorded underwriting.

Jess Phaneuf, who's been filling in on mornings, will move there permanently.

Congratulations to both of them, for all their good work.

New on mvyradio: Suzanne Vega

0comments
Kudos to Suzanne Vega, for never being restrained by the "singer-songwriter/folkie" label, and for always being open to different sonic styles.  "I Never Wear White" rocks in a way that folks who haven't followed Vega, would never guess she could.

It's a rare day when an MVY artist also appears on American Idol.  But it happened Thursday night, when Jake Bugg performed "Me And You."

But no worries, you don't have to watch Idol to hear this one.  It's now in regular rotation on the station.

New on mvyradio: Nicki Bluhm And The Gramblers

We got a big kick out of Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers during their main stage appearance at Newport Folk 2013.  And "Little Too Late" is a deceptively groovy track that we're enjoying quite a bit here at MVY.
